Low Rainfall Damages Kharif Crops as Barwani Farmers Seek Relief

Farmers in parts of Barwani district say there was not enough rain for their crops.

They reported damage to cotton, maize and several other crops.

Some farmers said their plants dried up after the rain failed.

They also said later showers damaged crops that were still standing.

One farmer said he spent a lot of money on six acres of cotton.

Another farmer borrowed money to grow maize and cotton.

The farmers want officials to measure the losses and provide compensation.

They are also asking for the district to be declared drought-affected.
