NCLT Halts MBG Commodities Share Allotment Over Allegations
Imagine a company where one person used to own most of the shares.
That person says the company's leaders did something unfair, like giving shares to others in a way that took away the first person's control.
The first person went to a special court, called the NCLT, to complain.
The court agreed there might be a problem and stopped the company from making any changes based on how the shares were recently given out.
This means the company can't act on decisions it made about the shares until the court looks into it more.
The court will hear more arguments in September to decide what to do.
NCLT Hyderabad halted MBG Commodities from acting on EGM resolutions.
Ashok Kumar Mandhani filed a petition alleging oppression and mismanagement.
Mandhani's stake was reduced from 71.79% to 47.87% due to share allotment.
The petitioner alleged a 'boardroom coup' with fraudulent activities.
The court observed a prima facie case and granted interim relief.
