Nashik Ganesh Idols Gain Strong Demand Across Global Markets

Artists in Nashik make Ganesh idols for the annual Ganesh festival.

People in India and other countries want to buy these idols.

This year, the idols are being sent to more than 22 countries.

They are made from Shadu clay or Plaster of Paris.

The artists create more than 20 different designs.

Some designs show Ganesh sitting on a throne or riding a mouse.

Small idols cost about ₹2,500, while large decorated idols can cost ₹50,000.

The More family has been making these idols for four generations.

The overseas interest is helping Nashik’s traditional craft grow.
