CPI alleges political motive as Kerala-Delhi special train cancelled
A group called the CPI in a place called Kerala wanted to travel to a big city called Delhi to hold a protest march.
They rented a very long train with 20 coaches to carry their workers.
But the company that runs the train told them it was cancelled, and they got their money back.
The group's leader, Binoy Viswam, said he thinks the government cancelled the train on purpose to stop people from protesting.
The group said they will still go to Delhi by other trains, buses, or even airplanes.
They are very determined and will not give up.
The leader said people from all over Kerala are excited and helping out.
The group also plans to hold smaller protests at railway stations on Friday.
They believe even more people might join the march now.
The march is still planned for September 1.
The Kerala CPI had booked a 20-coach special train from Kochuveli to New Delhi for its September 1 'Delhi Chalo, Badlaav Zaroori Hai' protest march.
CPI state secretary Binoy Viswam said IRCTC informed the party that the special train had been cancelled and its Rs 10 lakh advance was refunded.
Viswam alleged the cancellation was politically motivated and aimed at preventing people from participating in the protest march.
The party said cadres would still reach Delhi by regular trains, buses, and flights by pooling money.
CPI will hold protest marches at major railway stations in all districts on Friday evening, and claimed similar trains for CPI units in Tamil Nadu, Telangana and Andhra Pradesh were also cancelled.
Viswam claimed the cancellation could actually boost participation in the September 1 Delhi march.
