MP: RSS Body Seeks Forest Policy Change for Tribal Livelihoods
The government in Madhya Pradesh is being asked to change how it fixes damaged forests.
The Vanvasi Kalyan Samiti, part of RSS, wants the government to change how they replant trees.
Instead of planting the same trees, they suggest planting trees that have medicinal uses, like those used to make medicine, so local tribal people can earn money from them.
They also want special centers created to teach people about forests and how to make money from them.
This should help the tribal communities who rely on the forests for their living, plus they want to find ways to make forest products more valuable.
