Visakhapatnam Launches Eat Right Campaign with SHE Teams
The city of Visakhapatnam is starting a program called 'Eat Right' to help people stay healthy and keep the city clean.
The city is creating special teams called SHE Teams to check if restaurants and food sellers are making food safely and using good ingredients.
These teams will look at how clean the kitchens are and if they are using any harmful chemicals.
They will also make sure businesses are not using single-use plastic.
At first, the teams will teach people about these rules, but if they break the rules, they will have to pay a fine.
The city wants everyone to work together to have a healthy and clean city.
GVMC launched the Eat Right campaign to protect residents' health and the environment.
16 SHE Teams formed to inspect food outlets and enforce the ban on single-use plastic.
Teams will inspect food quality, hygiene, and ingredients at hotels and restaurants.
Inspections will occur daily, focusing on awareness initially, followed by fines for violations.
The Commissioner urged cooperation from food operators and the public for a clean city.
