SpaceX Memorial Mission Carries Dog's Ashes and More To Space
Imagine a rocket carrying special containers.
These containers held the ashes of people and pets who loved space.
One of these was a dog named Franz.
The rocket went around Earth twice, then came back down into the ocean.
The families of those who went on the flight will get the containers back.
It was a way to remember loved ones and give them a final journey among the stars.
Celestis Inc. launched a memorial mission carrying remains of loved ones into space.
The mission, called the Perseverance SpaceX Flight, included ashes of a dog named Franz.
The flight lasted about three hours, orbiting Earth twice before splashing down in the Pacific Ocean.
The capsules contained DNA or cremated remains and will be returned to families in two months.
The cost to send each capsule into space was $3,500.
