Mumbai: BMC Refills Stalled Coastal Road Pit After Health Alert
A big hole was dug near the Tata Garden for an underground parking lot, but the project stopped.
The hole filled with rainwater and became a place where mosquitoes could breed, which is bad for people's health.
Because of this, the government told the company building the road to fill the hole back up.
They started on this work a few days ago and should be done in about ten days.
This way, the rainwater won't stay and make more mosquitoes.
BMC is refilling a large pit behind Tata Garden along the Coastal Road.
The pit, originally for underground parking, was left open after the project stalled.
The pit became a mosquito breeding ground, posing a health hazard.
The BMC ordered the contractor, L&T, to fill the pit.
Refilling is expected to be complete within 10 days, reaching high tide level.
