19 Concrete Plants Shut in Mumbai Over Pollution
The Maharashtra Pollution Control Board has shut down 19 concrete plants in and around Mumbai because they were not following environmental rules.
These plants were not controlling dust or managing emissions properly, which was making the air quality worse.
The board has 32 stations to check the air quality and 22 mobile vans to find pollution hotspots.
They have also given new rules to these plants and are checking if they are following them.
Some plants had to pay a guarantee to keep working, and some illegal metal furnaces were also told to stop operating.
The board is serious about controlling pollution and will keep checking other industries too.
