Cop Reinstated After Daughter Argues Case Against Father's Order
A police officer named Taufiq Ahmad was fired because he was accused of a crime.
However, the Allahabad High Court said that the way he was fired wasn't done correctly.
Interestingly, the officer's lawyer was the daughter of the police chief who originally fired him!
The court agreed that the dismissal wasn't done properly.
This means that the officer gets his job back while they do another investigation.
Everyone involved, including the police chief and his daughter, said they were just doing their jobs.
Allahabad High Court reinstated Constable Taufiq Ahmad after his dismissal.
Ahmad was dismissed January 13, 2023, over alleged sexual assault and POCSO Act violations.
Rakesh Singh, then IG, ordered Ahmad's dismissal, citing severity of the charges.
Singh's daughter, Anura Singh, argued Ahmad's case, citing procedural violations.
The court quashed the dismissal, ordering a fresh inquiry within three months.
