Homebuyers Protest Delayed Vasavi Urban Project
Some people who bought apartments in a project called Vasavi Urban in Hyderabad are very upset.
They say the apartments were supposed to be ready by December 2024, but they're not.
The people who bought the apartments have to pay rent and loans at the same time, which is really hard for them.
They also say the company promised to pay them some money to help, but they didn't.
The company that built the apartments says they're working as fast as they can, but there were some problems like the Covid-19 pandemic and some court cases that made them late.
The people who bought the apartments want the government to help them get their apartments soon.
Homebuyers protested at the Vasavi Urban project site in Bachupally, Hyderabad, demanding immediate handover of delayed apartments.
Buyers allege financial distress due to paying rent along with EMIs and claim the developer failed to provide promised compensation of Rs7,000 per month.
The developer, Vasavi Infracon LLP, asserts the project is RERA-compliant and cites Covid-19 disruptions and litigation as reasons for delays.
RERA has extended the project's registration until 3 August 2026, with revised handover timelines extending from April 2026 to February 2028.
Protesters demand municipal authorities to intervene and take strict action against the builder for the delayed project.
