Unregistered Hospital Sealed After Decade in Uttar Pradesh
Health officials closed a hospital in Bhadohi, Uttar Pradesh.
They said the hospital may have been working without the registration it needed.
Officials said it had been operating this way for more than 10 years.
The hospital reportedly had surgery facilities, a blood bank, testing services and a medical store.
Its operator, Dr Vijay Shankar Maurya, was found to have a BAMS degree.
The department inspected the hospital after receiving a complaint.
Police registered a case against the operator.
Officials are also checking whether government doctors worked there.
Health officials sealed Jeevan Raksha Hospital in Bhadohi after alleging it operated without registration for more than 10 years.
The four-storey facility reportedly offered surgeries, blood-bank services, diagnostic tests and a medical store.
Officials said operator Dr Vijay Shankar Maurya possesses a BAMS degree.
An FIR was registered against Maurya under relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and Indian Medical Council Act.
Authorities are verifying information that government doctors may have been providing services at the hospital.
