Telangana Police Report Crime Rate Declines in 2025
The police in Jagtial, Rajanna Sircilla, and Cyberabad districts in Telangana, India, have reported a drop in crime for the year 2025.
Jagtial saw a 5.05% decrease in crime, while Rajanna Sircilla had an even bigger drop of 14.04%.
In Jagtial, the police solved many theft cases and recovered a lot of stolen items and money.
They also helped return many lost mobile phones and froze money lost in cybercrimes, giving it back to the victims.
The district even involved transgender people in traffic management during a festival and started clubs in schools to keep kids away from drugs.
In Rajanna Sircilla, the police focused on visible policing and recovered a lot of lost phones.
They also saw a big drop in murder and kidnapping cases, but there were more reports of crimes against children and women, which they think is because people feel safer reporting them.
Cyberabad saw a slight decline in overall crimes, with a big reduction in cybercrimes like fake job and trading scams.
However, there were more cases of child pornography and cyber stalking.
The police also arrested more people for drug offenses and deported more foreigners who overstayed their visas.
Both districts worked hard to make their roads safer by testing for drunk driving and improving medical response times.
Jagtial district saw a 5.05% decrease in crime rates in 2025, with 5,620 crimes recorded compared to 5,919 in the previous year.
Rajanna Sircilla district achieved a 14.04% reduction in overall crime, with a focus on visible policing through the Village Police Officer (VPO) system.
Jagtial police solved 187 property theft cases, recovered assets worth Rs 2.92 crore, and returned 1,551 lost mobile phones valued at Rs 3.10 crore.
Rajanna Sircilla police recovered 2,218 missing mobile phones (83% recovery rate) and secured 95 convictions, including life sentences in three murder cases.
Cyberabad Police Commissionerate reported a 36.68% decrease in cybercrime cases, with 7,636 cases in 2025 down from 11,914 in 2024, but saw increases in child pornography and cyber stalking cases.
