Bhopal Man Forced to Convert to Islam
A young man named Shubham from Bhopal fell in love with a Muslim girl.
Her family didn't like it and filed a false case against him.
They told him the case would go away if he converted to Islam.
After a lot of pressure, Shubham agreed and changed his name to Aman Khan.
He had to live as a Muslim, go to mosque, and even eat cow meat, which is against his beliefs.
He was threatened and couldn't go back to his family.
After three years, Shubham went to the police and told them what happened.
The family who pressured him was arrested, and Shubham wants to go back to being Hindu.
The court said the family did something very wrong and didn't let them out on bail.
Shubham Goswami, a Hindu Brahmin, was coerced to convert to Islam and adopt the identity of Aman Khan by his Muslim girlfriend's family.
The family filed a false case against Shubham under charges of abduction and rape, including provisions of the POCSO Act, which was withdrawn only after his conversion.
Shubham was sent to a three-day jamaat in Raisen and a 130-day jamaat in Karnataka, where he was forced to eat cow meat.
The family threatened Shubham, warning him that if he attempted to return to Hinduism or resumed contact with his community, they would kill him and his relatives.
An FIR was registered against the family under Sections 3(5) and 251(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and Sections 3 and 5 of the Madhya Pradesh Freedom of Religion Act, 2021.
