Speeding Car Kills Lawyer in Bengaluru
A 61-year-old lawyer named Ramachandra Reddy was crossing the road in Bengaluru when a speeding car hit him.
The car was driven by an 18-year-old named Shishir Patil.
The impact was so strong that Ramachandra Reddy died on the spot.
The car then hit a scooter, injuring two people, and crashed into parked cars.
The driver and the two scooter riders were taken to the hospital.
The police are investigating whether the driver was speeding or if the car had brake problems.
The driver has been charged with rash driving and causing death by negligence.
A 61-year-old High Court advocate, N Ramachandra Reddy, was killed by a speeding car in Bengaluru.
The accident occurred around 7:28 pm on December 17 near RMV Club in Dollars Colony, Sanjaynagar.
The car, driven by 18-year-old Shishir Patil, hit Reddy, then collided with a scooter injuring two people, and damaged parked cars.
Reddy was rushed to M S Ramaiah Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries, while the scooter riders and the driver were taken to Shirdi Sai Hospital.
Police have registered a case under Sections 281, 125(2), and 106 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita for rash driving and negligence.
