Mumbai Court Denies Bail in Forged VIP Railway Quota Case

A railway ticket agent named Mohammed Tarique Khan was arrested in Mumbai.

He is accused of making fake government letters.

Prosecutors say the letters were used to get railway tickets through a special VIP quota.

They say more than 400 tickets may have been confirmed this way.

The documents allegedly copied official letterheads, signatures, stamps and seals.

Khan said he was being blamed unfairly and had worked as an agent for six years.

The court said the accusations were serious.

It refused to release him on bail because of concerns about the investigation and witnesses.
