India Beat Germany 3-1 to Secure Fifth World Cup Place

India’s women’s hockey team played Germany for fifth place at the World Cup.

India won the match 3-1.

Neither team scored during the first half.

Germany created several chances and won penalty corners, but India’s goalkeepers and defenders stopped them.

Ishika Chaudhary scored India’s first goal in the 43rd minute.

Navneet Kaur then scored twice in the next four minutes.

Germany’s Lynn Krings scored once near the end of the game.

India defended its lead and finished fifth.

This was India’s best World Cup finish since 1974.
