J-K Minister Predicts Ladakh's Reunion with Jammu & Kashmir
A minister in Jammu and Kashmir, named Javed Rana, said that he thinks Ladakh will soon become part of Jammu and Kashmir again.
He was talking to reporters and said that the Indian government doesn't have any other choice.
He also mentioned that Jammu and Kashmir used to be a full state, but parts of it were given to Pakistan, and Ladakh was separated.
He thinks that if one area in Jammu can become a state, then other areas might want the same.
This is important because the state was split into two parts in 2019, and a special law called Article 370 was removed.
There are protests in Ladakh where people want their own state with special protections.
J-K minister Javed Rana predicts Ladakh will rejoin Jammu and Kashmir.
Rana believes the Centre has no other alternative.
He recalls J-K was a full state before parts were given to Pakistan and Ladakh was separated.
Protests in Ladakh demand statehood and constitutional safeguards under the Sixth Schedule.
The bifurcation of J-K into two Union Territories occurred on August 5, 2019, with the abrogation of Article 370.
