Article 370 Scrapping Marked New Era of Inclusive Development: Governor

Seven years ago, the government of India made a big change called scrapping Article 370.

This rule gave a special place called Jammu and Kashmir different rights from the rest of India.

A leader named Kavinder Gupta, who is the governor of Himachal Pradesh, said this change was very important.

He said it was a landmark day in India's history.

Now, he says, everyone in Jammu and Kashmir has the same rights as all other Indians.

That means one law and equal treatment for everyone.

He said some groups, like West Pakistan Refugees, Valmiki Samaj and the Gorkha community, can now get the same benefits as others.

He said the change helped bring better growth, governance and infrastructure to the region.

He thanked India's leader, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, for making this happen.

The governor said the decision means peace, dignity and a better future for Jammu and Kashmir.
