SML Mahindra Reports Strong October Sales Growth, Production Rises
SML Mahindra, a company that makes trucks and buses, had a really good month in October!
They sold way more vehicles than last year, and they also built more vehicles in their factories.
This is great news because it shows their business is growing.
However, when they looked at their financial results for the last three months (July, August, September), the news was a bit more mixed.
While they sold slightly more than the previous year, their profits didn't go up as much.
This happened because it cost them more to make their vehicles and the prices they could charge didn't increase much.
The company is also changing its name and becoming a bigger part of the Mahindra & Mahindra group, which is a very large car company.
SML Mahindra is known for being a big player in selling medium-sized buses.
SML Mahindra's October 2025 sales surged 36% year-on-year to 995 units, with production increasing to 1,206 units.
In the September quarter (Q2 FY26), the company's revenue grew 1% to ₹555 crore, but net profit declined 3.7% to ₹21 crore.
EBITDA decreased by 6.5% year-on-year in Q2 FY26, and the EBITDA margin narrowed to 7.6%.
The company, recently renamed SML Mahindra, is undergoing strategic realignment under Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M).
SML Mahindra holds a significant 16% market share in the intermediate and light commercial vehicle (ILCV) bus segment.
