Meghalaya HC halts Bidhan Bhavan demolition
The High Court of Meghalaya has stopped the demolition of a very old and important building called Bidhan Bhavan, also known as Roy Villa.
This building was built before 1923 by a famous doctor named Dr. Bidhan Chandra Roy, who later became the Chief Minister of West Bengal.
The court said that no one can demolish the building until they decide what to do with it.
The building is currently used as a place for government officials to stay.
The court wants to make sure that the building is protected because it is very old and has a lot of history.
The government and a special lawyer will give more information about the building to the court.
