Nagpur Telemedicine Initiative Benefits Over 1,800 Patients
The Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) started a program to help people get medical advice using video calls.
Over 1,800 people have used it in the last few months.
Doctors from different cities help by talking to patients online.
People can talk to doctors about different health problems, from eye issues to skin problems.
The program has helped people who couldn't afford to see specialists.
If patients need more help, they can get referred for further tests or treatment.
The NMC plans to make this service available in more places.
Nagpur Municipal Corporation's (NMC) telemedicine program provided free consultations to 1,821 patients in three months.
The program, supported by Western Coalfields Limited (WCL), operates at two Urban Primary Health Centres (UPHCs).
Patients receive virtual consultations from specialist doctors across various medical fields.
Successful cases include a child with eye pain and another with fever and swelling.
NMC plans to expand the telemedicine service to more UPHCs across the city.
