Over 650 Join Peace and Unity Rally in Srinagar
More than 650 people gathered in Srinagar for a peace and unity rally.
Many of the participants were sadhus, or Hindu religious leaders.
They called for peace, harmony and national unity.
The National Anthem was played at Ghanta Ghar in Lal Chowk.
The event was connected to the launch of a book about Sardar Patel and Kashmir.
Organisers said they wanted people to see Kashmir as peaceful and welcoming.
They also encouraged visitors to come and enjoy the Valley’s beauty.
Similar programmes are planned for 10 days in Jammu and Kashmir and Punjab.

The event was organised by Acharya Jitendra Priya Das alongside the launch of Dr Rizwan Qadri’s book on Sardar Patel and Kashmir.
Participants raised “Bharat Mata Ki Jai” slogans, while the National Anthem was played at Ghanta Ghar.
Organisers said the rally aimed to portray Kashmir as peaceful and welcoming and encourage tourism to the Valley.
The initiative is planned to continue for 10 days across Jammu and Kashmir and Punjab with programmes promoting peace, unity and harmony.
