West Bengal Announces 2026 Holiday Calendar

West Bengal has announced its holiday calendar for 2026, which includes a lot of days off for government employees.

The biggest break is during Durga Puja and Lakshmi Puja in October, where employees will get 12 days off in a row.

This means almost half of October will be a holiday.

There are also other holidays in November, like Kali Puja and Chhath, giving employees over ten days off.

However, six major holidays fall on Sundays, so they won't add extra days off.

In total, employees will have 53 official holidays plus 104 weekends, making it over 150 days off.

There's also a special holiday called Hul Dibas for Santhali employees.
