Ambajogai Medical College Faces Staff Shortage Despite 150 MBBS Seats

A medical college in Ambajogai now teaches three times as many MBBS students as when it opened.

It has 150 MBBS seats and 91 postgraduate students.

However, the number of officially approved staff positions has not increased from the level needed for 50 seats.

This means there may not be enough teachers and workers for the students and patients.

Several important jobs, including the dean and hospital superintendent, are being handled temporarily.

Reports say this has made hospital management and medical training more difficult.

The college may also face problems meeting medical education rules.

The dean says the college is asking higher authorities to approve more posts and fill vacancies.
