India Makes Changes for NZ T20I Series
India is playing a series of T20 cricket matches against New Zealand.
Two of their players, Washington Sundar and Tilak Varma, got hurt, so the team has brought in new players named Shreyas Iyer and Ravi Bishnoi to play instead.
Shreyas Iyer will play in the first three matches, and Ravi Bishnoi will play in all five matches.
This series is important because it's a chance for India to practice before the big T20 World Cup tournament later this year.
Some people think another player, Arshdeep Singh, should have been playing all along because he's done well in the past.
The first match will be in Nagpur on January 21, 2026.
Washington Sundar ruled out of T20I series against New Zealand due to a side strain.
Ravi Bishnoi added to the squad as Sundar's replacement for all five matches.
Shreyas Iyer included in the squad for the first three T20Is, replacing the injured Tilak Varma.
The series is a crucial preparation for the T20 World Cup 2026.
Arshdeep Singh's potential inclusion in the ODI squad has been a topic of debate.
