Flag Foundation of India Installs 200th Monumental Flag at Kangla Fort
The Flag Foundation of India (FFOI) has put up its 200th big national flag at Kangla Fort in Imphal, Manipur.
This is a special place because it was once the home of Manipur's kings.
The flag was installed to remember two important court decisions: one from 30 years ago and another from 22 years ago.
These decisions said that flying the Indian flag is a right for all citizens.
The man who started this foundation, Naveen Jindal, fought for this right for ten years.
Now, the foundation wants January 23rd to be called ‘National Flag Day.’
They also want people to fly the flag all year and take care of it properly.
The foundation teaches people about the flag and how to respect it.
The Flag Foundation of India (FFOI) installed its 200th monumental national flag at Kangla Fort in Imphal, Manipur.
The installation marks 30 years since the Delhi High Court judgment and 22 years since the Supreme Court ruling on the right to fly the national flag.
Naveen Jindal, the founder of FFOI, fought for a decade to allow private citizens to fly the flag, leading to the Supreme Court's 2004 ruling.
The FFOI is advocating for January 23rd to be recognized as ‘National Flag Day’ and is promoting the ‘Right to Responsibility’ initiative.
The foundation's initiatives include educational outreach, environmental stewardship, and encouraging national pride through flag display.
