Tribal Families Face Blackout Over Sudden Bills

Tribal Families Face Blackout Over Sudden Bills

Eleven tribal families in a village called P. Kotnabelli in Anakapalle district have been left without electricity.

The officials cut their power because they had bills they couldn't pay.

The families say they didn't get any bills for about 15 years, and then suddenly they got big bills they couldn't afford.

They work as seasonal labourers and earn irregular incomes.

They asked for more time or to pay in instalments, but the officials cut their power anyway.

Now, it's very difficult for them, especially at night.

They only have two bulbs and a fan, and they don't know how the bills got so high.
