Govt. Disconnects Millions of Mobile Numbers to Curb Fraud
The government is cracking down on cyber fraud by disconnecting millions of mobile numbers.
They've created a system where you can check the numbers in your name and report any you don't recognize.
This has led to stopping lots of suspicious transactions and freezing bank accounts.
They're also blocking phones, stopping spam texts, and working with banks and police on a platform to fight these crimes together.
Over 13.6 million mobile numbers have been disconnected to curb telecom fraud.
The 'Know Your Mobile Connections' service allows users to check and report unauthorized numbers.
Over 3.7 lakh individuals have been flagged, preventing debit/credit instructions.
The government has blocked 5.5 lakh handsets and deactivated 20,000 bulk SMS senders.
