India's Global Image Needs Broader Advocacy Beyond Diaspora

India's Global Image Needs Broader Advocacy Beyond Diaspora

Avinash Pandey, a civil servant, shares his experiences from global forums where he met many people who had limited or outdated views about India.

He realized that expecting the Indian diaspora to be the main advocates for India is not practical.

Diaspora members often face complex identity struggles and may not be able to vocally support India without risking their social and professional standing.

Instead, Pandey suggests that India should focus on creating positive experiences for foreign nationals.

This can be done through exchange programs, better tourism experiences, and equipping Indian travelers with knowledge about India's achievements.

By doing this, foreign nationals can become informed advocates for India, leading to more genuine and lasting goodwill.
