Naidu Calls for Net-Zero, Zero-Waste Tirumala Development Model
Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu wants Tirumala and Tirupati to become cleaner and more environmentally friendly pilgrimage places.
He suggested using solar and wind energy instead of relying as much on other electricity sources.
Solar panels could be placed on all buildings run by the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams.
The plan also aims to reduce waste by reusing materials in a circular economy.
More trees, including medicinal plants, would be planted.
Water flowing from the hills would be saved to help refill groundwater.
Tirupati could also receive better parking, transport links and a skywalk between the railway station and bus stand.
The plans include improved food, medical and temple services for pilgrims and local communities.

He proposed using solar and wind power, battery storage, solar panels on TTD buildings and expanded tree planting.
Naidu said 89.5 per cent of Tirumala had green cover and urged stronger water conservation across the seven hills.
Plans include a Tirupati railway station-bus stand skywalk, multi-storey parking and improved highway connectivity.
The government also outlined housing support for 5,192 TTD employees, expanded medical coordination and wider temple development.
