Court Grants Police Custody of Ex-MLA Yadav

A court in Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh, has allowed the police to keep a former lawmaker, Deep Narayan Yadav, in their custody for 8 hours.

This is because he is accused of assaulting someone, stealing money, and demanding more money illegally.

The police want to use this time to find the remaining Rs 19,000 that they believe is connected to the case.

The case started when a man named Prem Singh Paliwal said that Yadav and his friends hurt him, took his things, and threatened him to give them land.

The court has also attached properties worth over Rs 20 crore belonging to Yadav.

One of Yadav's friends, Ashok Goswami, has been released on bail, but another friend, Anil Yadav, is still in police custody.
