Jharkhand HC Observes Police Raid on ED Office
The Jharkhand High Court said that a recent police raid on the Enforcement Directorate (ED) office in Ranchi seemed planned.
The court ordered the central government to send security forces to protect the ED office and its officers.
It also stopped the police from investigating the ED officers based on a complaint by a former government employee.
The ED had asked for a CBI probe into the raid, saying the state police interfered with their work.
This happened after a similar confrontation in West Bengal.
The BJP and the ruling JMM are arguing about who has the right to control the police.
The BJP says the raid was to destroy evidence, while the JMM says the police were just doing their job.
The Congress supports the police action.
