Kristi Noem's Claims About Immigrant's Threat Questioned
A man named Ramon Morales Reyes was arrested because he was said to have threatened to shoot Donald Trump.
But, it looks like he may not have written the threat.
Now, the authorities think he was framed, perhaps to stop him from being a witness in another court case.
The government said he was the author of the letter, which made his lawyer mad.
He has been in jail since May, and he is asking to be released and for the government to clear his name.
He is a dishwasher and lives with his family.
Now, there is an investigation on why this might have happened.
Ramon Morales Reyes was arrested for allegedly threatening to shoot Donald Trump.
Authorities now suspect Reyes did not write the threatening letter, potentially framed.
The Department of Homeland Security issued a statement identifying Reyes as the author.
Reyes' lawyer disputes claims and is seeking clarification from DHS.
