BCCI Begins Stricter Fitness Tests Amid India’s Injury Crisis

Indian cricket players are taking fitness tests before a very busy season.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India says players completed the tests in batches.

Players such as Shreyas Iyer, Sanju Samson and Ruturaj Gaikwad were among those pictured.

The testing comes after injuries affected several Indian players.

The BCCI has reportedly introduced standard fitness rules for the team.

These include the Bronco test and a two-kilometre running test.

Players must complete the two-kilometre test in about nine to ten minutes.

India will soon play Afghanistan and the West Indies.

Teams will also participate in the Asian Games 2026 and tour New Zealand.
