Mann demands nationwide sports infra inspection after teen deaths
Two young basketball players died in Haryana when the iron poles holding the basketball hoops fell on them.
Punjab's Chief Minister, Bhagwant Mann, visited the family of one of the victims and demanded that the central government check all sports facilities in the country to make sure they are safe.
He said this is especially important because India will host the Commonwealth Games in 2030.
Mann also asked for a job and financial help for the victim's family and for a stadium to be named after the deceased player.
He mentioned that money had been allocated for improving the sports infrastructure but it seems it was not used properly.
Haryana's Chief Minister, Nayab Singh Saini, criticized Mann for doing politics over the tragedies and ordered an inspection of Haryana's sports infrastructure.
