Mixed Q3 Results for Renewable Energy Firms
Two renewable energy companies in India reported their financial results for the third quarter of the financial year 2026.
Waaree Renewable Technologies Ltd had a great quarter with a 124% increase in profit to ₹120 crore.
This was because they got more contracts to build solar power projects and sold more power.
They also got a new big project worth ₹103 crore to build a solar power plant in Maharashtra.
On the other hand, Sterling and Wilson Renewable Energy had a bad quarter.
Their profit dropped by 91% to ₹1.55 crore because they had to pay a lot of money due to a legal dispute.
Even though their total revenue went up, the legal costs hurt their profits.
Both companies are important in the solar energy industry, but they had very different experiences this quarter.
Waaree Renewable Technologies reported a 124% increase in net profit to ₹120 crore for Q3 FY26.
Sterling and Wilson Renewable Energy saw a 91% decline in net profit to ₹1.55 crore due to a ₹30.84 crore exceptional charge.
Waaree's revenue grew 136% year-on-year to ₹851 crore, driven by solar EPC contracts and power sales.
Sterling & Wilson's revenue increased to ₹2,092.21 crore, but an arbitration loss impacted their profits.
Waaree won a ₹103 crore contract for a 25 MWac/35MWp solar power project to be completed by FY27.
