Bihar Electoral Roll Revision: 65.2 Lakh Voters May Be Removed
The government in Bihar is checking who can vote.
They just finished the first part of this check and found some people who shouldn't be on the list.
About 65.2 lakh names might be taken off because those people have passed away, moved away, or are on the list more than once.
Almost everyone in Bihar has been checked, and their information is now on the list.
If someone was missed, they can still get their name added during the next part of the process.
Also, political parties can help point out names that should be removed.
Bihar completes the first phase of Special Intensive Revision (SIR) exercise.
Around 65.2 lakh voters are likely to be excluded from the rolls.
Reasons for exclusion include death, relocation, and multiple enrollment.
The Election Commission (EC) reported 99.8% coverage of Bihar's electors.
Eligible voters can still be added during the next phase, August-September.
