Supreme Court Blocks Trump's National Guard Deployment in Chicago

Supreme Court Blocks Trump's National Guard Deployment in Chicago

The Supreme Court recently made a big decision about the National Guard.

They said President Trump can't send National Guard troops to Chicago to help with law enforcement.

The court explained that a law called the Posse Comitatus Act limits when the military can be used for domestic issues.

Three justices disagreed, but the majority ruled against the president.

Governor Pritzker of Illinois was happy with the decision, saying it protects democracy.

Meanwhile, the White House said the ruling doesn't change their main goals.

There are still some National Guard troops in the area, but they're not currently active.

Other states like California and Oregon are also challenging similar deployments.

Additionally, Louisiana has decided to send some National Guard troops to help with immigration enforcement in New Orleans.
