Trump Orders Aim to Boost Nuclear Power Production
President Trump is trying to speed up building new nuclear power plants.
These plants produce energy without pollution.
His plan aims to make the U.S. a leader in nuclear energy again by approving new projects faster.
He wants to build new types of reactors and also restart old ones.
Some people think this is a good idea, helping the U.S. get cleaner energy.
However, some worry about safety and whether it will be easy to manage all the needed approvals.
Trump signed orders to accelerate nuclear power plant construction, including small reactor designs.
The initiative aims to meet rising electricity demand and regain U.S. leadership in nuclear energy.
The plan includes government financing, restarts of shuttered plants, and upgrades to existing sites.
One order aims to begin construction of 10 large reactors by 2030.
The NRC will undergo reorganization with an 18-month approval timeline for licenses.
