Indian Man Wins KFC Discrimination Case
An Indian man named Madhesh Ravichandran worked at a KFC restaurant in London.
He said his boss, who was from Sri Lanka, treated him badly because he was Indian.
The boss called him mean names like 'slave' and 'shit' and didn't let him take time off when his Indian colleagues could.
The boss also tried to make him work too many hours.
When Ravichandran complained, he was fired without proper notice.
A judge said the boss was wrong and racist.
The company has to pay Ravichandran a lot of money and teach all their employees about not being racist at work.
Madhesh Ravichandran won a race discrimination and wrongful dismissal case against his KFC franchise manager and the company Nexus Foods Limited.
The tribunal found that Ravichandran was subjected to racial slurs and denied holiday requests because of his Indian heritage.
The judge concluded that Ravichandran was wrongfully dismissed and awarded him approximately 66,800 pounds in compensation.
The tribunal ordered Nexus Foods Limited to implement an anti-discrimination training program for all employees within six months.
Ravichandran's manager, Kajan, was found to have made racially abusive and threatening comments towards him.
