Uddhav Thackeray Demands LoP Appointment Before Session Ends
Uddhav Thackeray, the leader of Shiv Sena (UBT), visited Nagpur during the winter session of the legislature.
He met with the Assembly Speaker and legislative council chairman to demand the appointment of Leaders of Opposition in both houses before the session ends.
Thackeray is unhappy because this is the first time a session is happening without a Leader of Opposition in both houses.
He also mentioned that the MVA opposition alliance has recommended names for these posts.
Additionally, Thackeray stated that the demand for a separate Vidarbha state cannot be fulfilled because Vidarbha is a part of Maharashtra and cannot be separated.
Uddhav Thackeray met with Assembly Speaker Rahul Narwekar and legislative council chairman Ram Shinde to demand the appointment of Leaders of Opposition in both houses.
The MVA opposition alliance has recommended Bhaskar Jadhav for Assembly LoP and Satej Patil for council LoP.
Thackeray expressed displeasure over the delay in appointing Leaders of Opposition.
He cited the example of the AAP government in Delhi giving the LoP post to the BJP despite having only three legislators.
Thackeray stated that the demand for a separate Vidarbha state cannot be fulfilled because Vidarbha is a part of Maharashtra.
