GenAI Boosts Women in India's STEM
More women in India are joining STEM fields like science, technology, engineering, and math.
This is happening because of new technologies like Generative AI, which helps them learn new skills.
The number of women getting training in STEM went up from 22% in 2018 to 33% in 2023.
Many companies are also hiring more women for these jobs.
However, women are still not equally represented in all STEM areas, especially in manufacturing and engineering.
To help more women succeed in STEM, the report suggests better education, mentorship, and highlighting women's achievements.
Women's participation in STEM upskilling increased from 22% (2018-19) to 33% (2023).
GenAI course enrollments surged 195% year-on-year in 2025.
62% of employers reported hiring more women in STEM roles in FY 23-2024.
Women account for 36% of STEM jobs in technology and IT, but only 3% in heavy manufacturing and engineering.
Women hold approximately 13% of roles in India's EV/automotive sector.
