Navi Mumbai Reports Lower Malaria, Suspected Dengue Cases

Navi Mumbai saw fewer malaria and suspected dengue cases in 2026 than in 2025.

There were 23 malaria cases this year, compared with 32 last year.

Suspected dengue cases dropped from 669 to 194.

However, suspected dengue does not always mean a person definitely has dengue.

NMMC said an NS1 test only gives an indication of a possible viral infection.

Suspected samples are sent to a special laboratory in Pune for confirmation.

Only cases confirmed by that laboratory are officially counted as dengue.

Mosquito-related illnesses still increased during the rainy monsoon months.

July had the highest number of malaria and suspected dengue cases in 2026.
