Vijay’s UK Investment Trip Draws AIADMK Criticism Over MoUs

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay traveled to the United Kingdom to seek new investments for the state.

The government said the trip is meant to bring companies and jobs to Tamil Nadu.

One company, Samvardhana Motherson International, signed an agreement involving about ₹11,000 crore.

The agreement is expected to create around 7,000 jobs.

Other agreements reportedly bring the total investment commitments above ₹12,300 crore.

Ernst & Young also promised ₹1,000 crore for a new technology center.

The AIADMK criticized the trip and questioned why Vijay needed to travel abroad.

It also pointed to photographs of Vijay at a motor-racing event and questioned an agreement involving a company based in Noida.
