Freedom Fighters' Daughters Struggle Without Pensions

Freedom Fighters' Daughters Struggle Without Pensions

Some daughters of people who fought for India's independence are having a hard time financially.

They aren't getting money (pensions) from the government like they used to.

The government says they have to be very sick (with a 60% or higher disability) to get the money.

These daughters, like Varsha and Sarvjeet, are struggling.

They are unmarried and depended on their parents, who were freedom fighters.

The government used to give them money, but now it doesn't, and it's hard for them to survive.

Other benefits they used to get, like help with finding jobs, are gone too.
