SEBI Develops Global AI Toolkit for Securities Regulation

SEBI Develops Global AI Toolkit for Securities Regulation

India’s securities regulator is creating a toolkit that uses artificial intelligence.

The regulator is called the Securities and Exchange Board of India, or SEBI.

Its chief, Tuhin Kanta Pandey, said the goal is not just to automate work.

SEBI also wants to study large amounts of data.

AI and analytics may help find patterns that people could miss.

This could help regulators understand problems sooner.

SEBI wants its supervision to become more predictive.

The broader aim is to spot new risks in securities markets early.
