Telangana HC Questions Market Agents' Legality
The Telangana High Court is looking into three different cases.
In one case, the court is questioning whether market agents should be allowed to operate in the Gudimalkapur vegetable market, as there are claims of illegal encroachments and improper licensing.
In another case, retired employees are asking for their rightful service and retirement benefits, which they say have been denied unfairly.
Lastly, a group of ophthalmic assistants wants the court to make clear rules about their jobs, as the current lack of guidelines is causing problems.
The court has asked the relevant authorities to respond to these issues.
Justice T. Madhavi Devi questioned the legality of commission agent licences and encroachments at Gudimalkapur vegetable market.
The Vegetable Commission Agents Welfare Association filed a plea against the issuance of licences and commercial activities in parking areas.
Retired employees of AP State Textile Processing Cooperative Society Limited sought service and retirement benefits denied by authorities.
The Telangana Ophthalmic Assistants / Optometrists Association sought a duty chart and job description for ophthalmic assistants.
The court ordered notices to the respective authorities to file their responses in all three cases.
