Selja Urges Centre for Sirsa-Delhi Train
A lady named Kumari Selja, who is a member of parliament from Sirsa, asked the government to start a new train that goes from Sirsa to Delhi.
She said this train should be fast and modern, like the Intercity Express or Vande Bharat.
The train line was built in 2013, and she thinks it's important to start the train service now because it will help people who need to travel to Delhi for work, school, or business.
She also said that better train connections can help the area grow and create more jobs.
Additionally, she is worried about many people in villages near the Ghaggar river getting sick with serious diseases like cancer and kidney problems, and she wants the government to do something about it.
Congress MP Kumari Selja urged the Railway Ministry to start an Intercity Express or Vande Bharat train on the Sirsa-Delhi route.
The railway line was inaugurated in 2013 during the Congress government to meet future regional needs and passenger convenience.
Selja emphasized that a fast, modern train would improve travel, regional trade, economic development, and employment opportunities.
She expressed concern over rising cases of cancer, kidney, and skin ailments in over 50 villages along the Ghaggar river in Sirsa district.
Selja highlighted that an investigation in 2022 identified hundreds of patients, but no regular health check-ups or permanent treatment arrangements have been made since.
