Trump Announces Up To 100% Tariffs On Imported Drones

The president of the United States wants America to make more of its own drones instead of buying them from other countries.

He announced a special tax, called a tariff, on drones that come into the United States from abroad.

Big drones that can carry heavy loads or use heat cameras will get a 100 percent tax, which doubles their price.

Smaller drones will get a 25 percent tax.

Drones from some friendly countries, like Japan and the United Kingdom, will get smaller taxes.

The president says this will help American companies build more drones at home and keep the country safe.

Most of the new taxes will start on September 3, 2026, but tariffs on some drone parts will start later.

China makes most of the world's drones, and the biggest maker is a company called DJI.

China is upset and has already said it will stop selling some drones to the United States and put six American companies on a blacklist.

Some experts say the taxes could make drones more expensive at first while American businesses look for new suppliers.
